Abstract

575,341. Reservoir pens. MABIE, TODD, & CO., Ltd., and SEARS, E. S. March 10, 1944, No. 4464. [Class 146 (iii)] A fountain pen of the sac self-filling type is provided with a presser bar formed from a strip which is doubled or bent back upon itself to form two portions, the outer portion d having a hook at the end remote from the nib to locate the bar in the pen barrel, the other end being unsupported, whilst the inner portion e is adapted to engage and compress the sac b by the action of the usual lever c which passes through a slot in the portion d, one end of the slot forming a stop for the lever when in sacdeflating position. The parts are arranged so that compression of the sac commences from its closed end.
