Abstract

405,804. Fountain pens. SWEETSER, G., 73, Gipsy Hill, Upper Norwood, London. July 11, 1933, No. 4756. [Class 146 (iii).] Relates to fountain pens of the kind in which a collapsable selffilling sac is deflated by buckling a spring strip through end pressure applied by means of a member slidable in the rear end of the pen barrel. The end of the barrel is closed by a plug d in which is slidable but not rotatable a member f engaging the end of the spring pressure strip c, the member f being held against detachment by means of a lip f<1>. A hollow finger-piece g screws on the rear end of the member, disconnection being prevented by a collar h carried by the end of the member and enclosed in a chamber of the finger piece closed by a disc i. During normal use of the pen, the finger-piece is screwed along the member f until it engages the end of the plug g to hold the parts against accidental operation.
