Abstract

525,651. Fountain pens. KALMAN, M. Feb. 24, 1939, No. 6208. Convention date, Feb. 25, 1938. [Class 146 (iii)] A fountain pen is adapted to be filled from the rear end and a suction device is provided to be fitted on the nib end of the barrel and to draw air therefrom through the ink-duct. The barrel 4 is provided with a tube 5 extending from the rear end to a point adjacent the feedbar 24, the outer end of the tube being closed by a rubber washer 7 carried by a detachable cap 6. The nib-covering cap 10 is provided with a rigid internal tube 11 adapted to contact with the end of the nib-section 25. A rubber tube 13 is secured to the tube 11 and to a disc 14 adapted to be depressed, against the action of a spring 15, by means of finger pieces 18 extending through slots in the cap.
