[Class 146 (iii)] In a fountain pen of the kind in which a piston is surrounded by an elastic member which is stretched when the piston is depressed and by its own resilience returns the piston to normal position, the piston is formed as a hollow plunger, 8 and the air tube 5 extends to or into the plunger. The elastic member 9 may be in the form of a sleeve secured at one end by a plug 6 closing the barrel and at the other end to the lower edge of the plunger, or, as shown, may be in the form of a bag secured at its open end by the plug.' 6 and provided at its closed end with a projection 10 passing through a hole in the base of the plunger.
