Abstract

530,082. Erasers; point protectors. WILD, J. June 16, 1939, No. 17583. [Class 146 (iii)] A tubular eraser 4 is slidably mounted upon a pencil 8 near its point so as to be slidden wholly by the fingers, without disarranging their writing position, to cover or uncover the pencil point. The eraser is fitted upon the socket 5 of a sleeve 6 having a wide slot 7 to allow a finger-grip of the pencil. The conical socket 5 serves as a stop for pointed pencils, or a stop pin or rim may be formed on the sleeve 6. According to the Provisional Specification, a solid eraser may be fitted upon the sleeve adjacent the pencil body. A rubber sleeve may form both finger grip and eraser, or a rubber ring may be used.
