Abstract

638,420. Pencil holders. ETABLISSEMENTS STYLOMINE. April 8, 1947, No. 9323. Convention date, April 11, 1946. [Class 146 (iii)] In a multiple lead propelling pencil wherein a lead holder 2 is advanced against a spring 15 by a member 5a slidable in a slot 4 of the pencil body 1, at the end of the forward stroke of the member 5a, a hook 6 is positioned above a recess 11 in the body 1 and due to a couple produced by the action of the spring 15 and the user's finger on a part 5b attached to the member 5a the part 5b pivots about a face 10 to engage the hook 6 in the recess 11. The lead holder 2 is retracted by depressing the slidable member 5a at 12. In a modification, a projection formed on a slidable member inside' the body 1 engages a recess in the body by being rotated outwardly by the spring 15.
