[Class 81(ii)] A manicure appliance is in the shape of a fountain pen and carries nail enamel and a brush at one end and, in the other end, polish remover and manicuring implements. In the form described the upper part of the body B houses an open-ended container H of nail varnish and a brush 1 mounted on a pin 3 and spring-loaded in an outward direction so that when the cap 5 is taken off a pin 6 is removed from engagement with the brush which is then forced out until a chamfered boss 19 seals the orifice 18 to prevent the loss of varnish. The body is normally inverted before the cap is removed and thus the brush is immersed in the varnish and ready for use immediately. A screwed plug 9 in the lower end of the body carries tweezers 12, the arms of which spring open when a button 16 is pressed, owing to their engagement with cam surfaces 13. Around a central tube 8 the body contains cotton wool 11 moistened with varnish remover, pieces of which can be withdrawn by the tweezers for use. If desired one face of the tweezers may be toothed to form a file and also a window in the body, in conjunction with a transparent container H, may be provided to enable the level of varnish to be seen.
