Abstract

486,844. Wick burners ; air supply. EHRICH & GRAETZ AKT.-GES. Jan. 27, 1938, No. 2662. Convention date, Feb. 6, 1937. [Class 75 (i)] In a wick burner a greater air supply is provided by having as shown two burner cones 14 and 16, the lower 16 perforated at 15, and an air deflecting flange 8 spaced from the wick tubes to prevent conduction of heat thereto and connected to basket 2 by spaced limbs 9 or by a perforated cone 9a, a larger flame without sooting of the mantle being obtainable and a greater exposure of the wick which is thus more easily lit. In emergency, should the mantle break, a luminous flame for lighting is given by the removal of cone 14, if the apertures 15 are large.
