231,392. Brown, W. B. Oct. 8, 1924. Wick burners, annular, blue-flame. - To enable a closely woven mantle to be used with an incandescent burner for wick lamps, the burner cone a is provided with a flange c forming a flat top in which are pierced near its outer rim a series of small holes d to supply an upward current of air to the interior of the mantle. The holes may circular and spaced around the cone at # in. apart. As shown they are located at a distance from the inner periphery c' of the flange equal to two-thirds or more of the width of the flange, which is sufficient to deflect the flame away from the holes.
