245,398. Dehn, F. B., (Burgoyne Light & Signal Corporation). Oct. 27, 1924. Wick burners, solid flame; flame spreaders.- In order to flatten the flame from a round wick the burner nipple 17 carrying the wick tube 12 is provided with two arms 18 supporting a flame spreader 19 which comprises two upwardly and inwardly inclined side walls 20 connecting two upwardly and outwardly inclined end walls 21 so as to form a flame passage having rectangular top and bottom openings arranged with their long axes at right-angles. The nipple 17 secures into the burner 11 which carries the wick-operating shaft 14 and star-wheel 15.
