481,708. Wrenches. PORTER, Inc., H. K. June 2, 1937, No. 15325. Convention date, June 2, 1936. [Class 61 (iii)] An adjustable sliding jaw wrench usable as gripping pliers or a hand vice comprises a head having a pair of spaced side plates 7, 9 secured together by shouldered pins 11, 15, a block 5 secured between the plates by a rivet 13, a jaw member 19 with jaw 21 slidable along guides on the block and provided with rack teeth for adjustment by a worm 27 mounted in the block on a pin 35, a second jaw member 39 with jaw 43 slidable on the head and a lever 59 pivoted at 57 to a lug 45 on the jaw member 39 and connected at 51 to a toggle link 47 pivoted at 11 to the block 5 which has a projecting handle 17 co-operating with the pivoted lever 59.
