Hand-grip sliding- jaw wrenches; wrench. jaw attachments.-Relates to adjustable wrenches of the kind described in Specification 10,654/14, which comprise a fixed shank and jaw and a movable shank and jaw, the latter of which carries a cam-surface on its underside which is adapted to engage the free end of the movable shank, and consists in providing the movable shank with a shoulder adapted to engage with a projection extending from the front end of the movable jaw, whereby the parallelism of the jaws is maintained. The movable shank f supports the sliding jaw a on the fixed shank b by its free end e engaging the cam-surface d within the slot c on the sliding jaw a. The movable shank f, which is forked to fit on both sides of the shank b, carries a detent g adapted to engage with a toothed rack h on the rear side of the fixed shank b. Projecting from the front k of each bifurcation of the movable shank f is a shoulder adapted to engage under a downward extension m from the front of the sliding jaw a whilst the free end e of the movable shank f is co-operating with the cam-surface d. In this way, any force tending to slack back the sliding jaw a will be resisted at two points by the parts e, l. The movable shank f may be a single piece working between a double-piece fixed shank b.
