Abstract
473,674. Cathode-ray tubes. ZEITLINE, V., ZEITLINE, A., and KLIATCHKO, V. April 18, 1936, No. 16051/37. Convention date, April 19, 1935. Divided out of 473,893. [Class 39 (i)] Two auxiliary electrodes are arranged adjacent and beyond the forward edges of a pair of electrostatic deflection plates and are connected each to the opposite deflection plate, and one deflection plate is maintained at a constant potential. As shown, two semi-discs 14,a 14b are arranged beyond the plates 4, 5. The semi-disc 14b is connected to the plate 4 and to the anode 3, and the disc 14a to a tap on a potentiometer 22 across which the deflecting voltage, applied to the plate 5, is impressed. A set of semidiscs may be associated with each pair of deflecting plates, or one set may correct for the errors of two pairs if it is cross-connected to one of them and its diametral gap is arranged at an angle to the plane of either plate. The arrangement is stated to prevent deformation of the fluorescent spot due to the edge-effect of the plates. Specification 449,245 is referred to.
