Abstract
436,314. Cathode-ray tubes. FERNSEH AKT.-GES., Goerzallee, Zehlendorf, Berlin. May 11, 1934, No. 14294. Convention date, May 11, 1933. [Class 39 (i)] In a cathode-ray tube in which the beam is substantially rectilinear when no scanning potentials are applied, the beam is arranged to pass asymmetrically through the pairs of deflecting plates. As shown in the Figure, the beam 5 may pass through one corner of the rectangle (in crosssectional view), formed by the pairs of plates 1, 2 and 3, 4. The plates 2, 4 may be curved or inclined so that the beam is parallel to them in the position of maximum deflection. The neck of the tube may be so shaped that the undeflected beam falls on the screen at one corner.
