Abstract
438,882. Television. RADIOAKT.- GES. D. S. LOEWE, 10, Wiesenweg, Steglitz, Berlin. March 24, 1934, No. 9247. Convention date, March 29, 1933. Addition to 432,209. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] The middle plate of a 3-plate deflecting system of the Braun-tube, television arrangement described in the parent Specification is divided into two separate parts 5, 6 spaced for the passage of the ray 2. The parts 5, 6 may be at the same or different bias potentials, the ray leaving the deflecting system parallel to its direction of entry, or striking the centre of the screen, when no scanning voltages are applied. As shown, the parts 5, 6 are connected by a high resistance 7 arranged in the tube itself and are positively biassed relatively to the anode 1 and to the outer plates 3, 4, and scanning potentials of opposed phase are applied to the plate 4 and the part 6. Scanning voltages are amplified by a pentode 9 before application through a condenser 10 to the plate 4 and are reversed in phase by a pentode 13 before application through a condenser 14 to the part 6. The tapping point on the anode resistance 11 is adjusted so that the voltages on the plates 4, 6 are of equal amplitude and the pentodes are fed through a potentiometer 17 so that smoothing in the anode supply to the pentodes can be reduced or dispensed with. A system of this type is used for both line and image deflections and the transmitter is modulated more heavily for the line frequency since the image frequency permits of better amplification. Circuit details are specified. Specification 423,427 is referred to.
