Abstract

473,132. Vehicle wheels. KELSEYHAYES WHEEL CO. April 1, 1936, No. 9666. Convention date, Sept. 25, 1935. [Classes 144 (i) and 144 (ii)] A vehicle wheel in which a brake drum is integral with the hub has the tyre rim E secured to the hub by an annulus F which has recesses F7, Fig. 4, at its periphery to allow passage of air, and a peripheral flange F3 to which the portion E\ Fig. 1, of the tyre rim is spot welded. The hub B has spokes C merging into bosses C<1> which have a face in the same plane as a rib A', Fig. 3, on the brake drum A, the annulus F abutting against the bosses and rib to make a seal preventing access of dirt &c. to the interior of the brake drum. Bolts G and nuts H secure the annulus to the brake drum. A hub cap I has a flange engaging within the flange F<1> of the annulus, the flange on the hub cap being formed with projections which snap under spring tongues riveted to the annulus.
