Abstract

357,213. Vehicle wheels. PUGH, J. V., Meriden House, Meriden, Warwickshire. June 14, 1930, No. 18291. [Class 144 (i).] A closing disc for a wheel or wheel hub is formed with a series of concentric corrugations 5 .. 8 and a central coned opening 10 in engagement by a correspondingly formed bolt 11, or nut. As shown in Fig. 2, the opening and the bolt-head may be corrugated. Fig. 10 shows various forms in which the outer edge of the disc may be shaped to engage the rim or the hub shell c. Fig. 9 shows a modification in which the flanged edge 38 of the disc is adapted to engage under a spring clip 39 fixed to the hub shell 37. The interengaging parts of the disc and hub shell may be polygonal of form. Specifications 2992/14, 102,829, 108,705, and 122,760, [all in Class 144 (i), Wheels for vehicles], are referred to.
