Abstract

241,144. Garriott, W. W. Aug. 4, 1925. Disc wheels.-A disc 21 of insulating, material such as cork, is carried between spaced discs 8, 9 which are attached by screws 7 to a detachable hub 1. Threaded bolts 25 pass through spaced distance pieces 23 fitting in peripheral recesses 22 in the disc 21, and through inwardly extending flanges 28 on parts 26, 27 of the tyrecarrying rim, the parts 26, 27 being secured in position by nuts 29 on the bolts 25. The detachable hub 1 is formed with spaced annular flanges 2 and cross flanges 3 for receiving pieces of heat insulating material 5 as shown in Fig. 4. Bolts 11, passing through flanges on the hub cap 13 secure the hub 1 to a flange on the permanent hub. The discs 8, 9 may be reinforced by a number of similar discs.
