448,635. Vehicle wheels. KELSEY - HAYES WHEEL CO., 3600, Military Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Dec. 13, 1934, No. 35795. Convention date, Dec. 26, 1933. [Class 144 (i)] A one-piece metal wheel comprises channel-section spokes 9, 25 with parallel front and rear faces, pressed from a hub or spoke-bearing portion 8, 29 which. is connected to the mounting- flange 6, 28 by an axially-disposed annular portion 7, 30. The spoke-bearing portion, annular portion, and spokes are of substantially equal axial depth, the spoke-bearing portion having a radial extent less than that of the spokes projecting therefrom. The central portion may be provided with reinforcing ribs 19, 27 and, as shown in Fig. 8, may be closed on the inner face by a weldedon plate 31. A ring 21, secured to the outer face of the wheel, is provided with detents to receive a snap-on hubcap 20.
