Abstract

200,945. Clark, H. C. April 29, 1922. Disc wheels.-A wheel comprises a dished metal disc (or a pair of discs riveted or welded together) the outer edge (or edges) being flanged to form the felloe. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the main disc 1, apertured at 2 to fit the axle box, is flanged to form the felloe or rim 3 and is reinforced by a flanged disc. The disc is secured by rivets 7, 8, a spacing-ring 9 at the hub being recessed adjacent the holes 11 which receive the attachment bolts. In a modification, the disc 5 is flanged inside the circle of the rivets 8 to form a brake-drum.
