Hubs.-In wheels of the wire-spoked type, the hub is formed of a dished metal disc, having a peripheral flange to which the spokes are fastened, and adapted to be detachably secured to the permanent hub by bolts or studs. In one construction, Fig. 7, the disc A comprises the cylindrical part a<6> and a radial part in which are provided a series of bolt holes a<2> which may be flanged as shown to take the bolts b by which the wheel is secured to the hub B. In a modification, the intermediate part of the disc may be formed conical so that the radial part containing the holt holes may be in any required position relatively to the central plane of the wheel. In the construction shown in Fig. 3, the hub comprises two dished discs A arranged back to back. The bolt holes in one disc have flanges a' which fit in plane holes in the other disc. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 147,073.
