Abstract

556,391. Vehicle wheels. FIRESTONE TIRE & RUBBER CO. Dec. 5, 1940, No. 17319. Convention date, May 24, 1940. [Classes 144 (i) and 144 (ii)] A tractor wheel assembly for different ground surfaces comprises an annular tractionlug mounting member 12 spoked to a hub 11 and anchor rings 18, 19, mounted on the spokes, to which are removably secured mounting lugs 25 of at least one pneumatic tyre rim 23, 24. As shown the member 12 is connected by radially inwardly diverging spokes 14, 15 to opposite ends of the hub 11 and angle-section anchor rings 18, 19 are clamped against opposite sides of the spokes by through bolts 21 which serve also to secure the mounting lugs 25 of two pneumatic tyre rims 23, 24 against the two rings 18, 19 respectively. In use, one or both rims 23, 24 may be removed and traction lugs 26 may be secured to the annular member 12.
