Abstract

277,690. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., (Assignees of Clark, E.). Sept. 18, 1926. [Convention date]. Tyre attachments to rims; detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-The parts 10, 11 of a divisible rim are detachably connected by a split ring 21 having a central groove 25 to receive matting flanges 14, 15 on the rim parts. The inner periphery of the ring 21 is coned to seat on the wheel felloe 26, and the complete rim is detachably secured to the wheel by bolts 29 and clamping-plates 31 which bear against the edge of the ring 21. To prevent creep, the ring 21 and the flanges 14, 15 of the rim parts are formed with recesses 36, 37 respectively to receive a driving-lug 32 on the wheel felloe. To facilitate dismounting, the ring 21 is provided with a recess 38 adjacent one end to receive a prising-tool.
