Abstract
533,996. Vehicle wheels. FIRESTONE TYRE & RUBBER CO., Ltd. Dec. 15, 1939, No. 32329. Convention date, March 16. [Class 144 (ii)] Twin detachable rims 22, 23, particularly for the wheels of tractors and like agricultural vehicles, are secured to the wheel-felloe 10 through a series of brackets 11, the interchange of positions of the rims on the brackets and the latter on the wheel, permitting variations in the spacing of the tyres 25 as well as the effective tracking width of the vehicle. As shown, each bracket comprises a bodyportion of angular section, an apertured lug 14 near one end for an attachment-bolt 12, and oppositely-directed end-arms 17, 18 to which lugs 24 on the rims 22, 23 are secured by bolts 20. The broken lines in Fig. 1 show the alternative positions in which each rim may be secured to the bracket 11 for any one of the four positions in which the latter may be mounted on the wheel.
