Abstract

499,410. Vehicle wheels. ROADLESS TRACTION, Ltd., JOHNSON, P. H., and BAWDEN, R. July 29, 1937, Nos. 20999/37 and 10848/38. [Class 144 (i)] A cleat for tractor wheels comprises one or more rubber blocks secured to a two-part bracket adapted for attachment to the wheelrim. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 3, each cleat comprises a pair of spaced rubber blocks A clamped between the flanges H, E of angled brackets G, B, the latter having an apertured base-flange D for bolting to the wheel-rim. In the modification shown in Figs. 5 and 6, a single rubber block A is clamped between bracket pieces J, K, the former having spaced attachment lugs so that the rubber block bears directly on the wheel-rim. In both forms, the blocks extend radially beyond the brackets and slotted side-plates (not shown) may be adjustably fitted between the brackets and the blocks to limit the projection of the latter.
