488,180. Vehicle wheels. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. March 12, 1938, No. 7723. Convention date, March 22, 1937. [Class 144 (ii)] A wheel-rim comprises a fixed side-flange 2, circumferentially-spaced transverse members 5 secured to the rim-base 1 for preventing tyre-creep, and a detachable side-flange 8 which is secured by bolts 7 threaded through a spacer element 9 into lugs 4 on the ends of the members 5. The spacer 9 may be constituted by a series of clamps or a continuous flange, or may be formed integral with the flange 8. To prevent creep of the latter, it may be formed with slots engaged by the lugs 4 ; and, in the constructions shown, the latter are fitted into slots formed in the gutteredge 3 of the rim-base.
