511,071. Vehicle wheels. GIANETTI, G., (trading as GIANETTI, DI GIUSEPPE E G. GIANETTI, G.). Feb. 17, 1938, No. 4985. Convention date, Feb. 17, 1937. [Class 144 (ii)] A detachable rim 2, to facilitate the transfer of tyres from front wheels to rear wheels and vice-versa, comprises a ring 3 formed with alternate recesses and projections 4, 5, respectively, corresponding in number and position with the spokes of the wheel, and each formed with inclined surfaces 6, 8 adapted to co-act with the spokes of a front and rear wheel respectively. Fig. 1 shows the rim attached by clamps and bolts to a front wheel, the ends of the spokes 1 engaging with the surfaces 6 of the recesses 4. When applied to a rear wheel provided with dualtyres, the rims are mounted on the spokes with the upturned flange portions 9 of the rings 3 in contact or separated by a spacer-ring, the inclined surfaces 8 bearing against suitable abutments and clamps on the ends of the spokes. The surfaces 6, 8 are preferably inclined at approximately 28 degrees to the wheel axis.
