Abstract

546,233. Vehicle wheels. ZIPPER, E. May 27, 1938, No. 15866. [Class 144 (1)] Relates to wheels of the kind having a rim and a hub connected by pairs of spokes or spoke-like parts mutually inclined in the plane of the wheel, and consists in curving the spokes, the inner ends of the pairs of spokes 6, 6 .. 9, 9, being spaced apart and their outer ends merged together, as at 10, to form a series of arch structures. The crosssection of a spoke may be as shown in Fig. 4, or the spokes may be solid and of approximately T-section. In a modification, the spokes of each pair intersect one of the spokes of each of the adjacent pairs in the series, to provide a cruciform arrangement.
