Abstract
387,980. Vehicle wheels. AKT.-GES. DER EISEN-UND STAHLWERKE VORM. G. FISCHER and KUENZI, K., 4, Belairstrasse, both in Schaffhouse, Switzerland. Oct. 26, 1932, No. 30017. [Class 144 (ii).] Single or twin detachable rims are secured to a wheel body, or on the outer ends of the spokes of a wheel-spider, by clamps having lugs freely movable in recesses in the wheel or spoke-ends but prevented from rotation, on tightening the attachment nuts, by engagement of the heads of the clamps with the rim. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, twin rims 6, separated by a distance-ring 26, are gripped between coned seatings on the wheel and clamps 1 having lugs 3 which are received in recesses 4 in the wheel and secured by transverse bolts 5. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the rims are gripped between pairs of clamps 1 and split rings 27, 28 which are spaced by means of lugs 29 on the wheel. A single split spacer-ring having slots to engage the lugs 289, may be used.
