Abstract
463,127. Vehicle wheels. ACIERIES DE HAINE - ST. - PIERRE & LESQUIN SOC. ANON. June 14, 1935, No. 17254. Void. Convention date, June 14, 1934. [Class 144 (ii)] Single or twin detachable rims are formed or fitted with circumferentially-spaced, coned blocks to engage coned seatings on the ends of the wheel-spokes, or on a ring secured to the spoke-ends. The rims are assembled in bayonet-joint fashion to bring the mating coned seatings into engagement, and are secured by clamps and transverse bolts. In the form shown in Fig. 1, rings 2 fitted to the rims 1 are formed with coned lugs 3 to engage coned seatings 4 on the ends of the spokes 5. The pairs of seatings may be formed with registering slots to receive driving wedges ; and, the clamps 6 which are secured by nuts 9 on the bolts 10 may be shaped to engage notches in the lugs 3. In modifications, the wheel-seatings are provided by separately-attached blocks ; or, as shown in Fig. 11, a ring 14 having projections 13 with coned seatings 15 may be provided for attachment to the spoke-ends. In the modification shown in Fig. 15, the rim-lugs are formed with pairs of coned faces 22 to engage the coned seatings on the wheel and coned faces on the clamping-lugs 23.
