Abstract

365,459. Wheels &c. WRIGHT, L., 123A, London Road, Calne, Wiltshire. Oct. 30, 1931, No. 14702. [Class 144 (i).] A wheel for motor vehicles and the like comprises a pair of conical discs 1, 2, Fig. 3, bulged slightly at their centres to leave a shallow space 12, and having their outer edges dished or curved to form rims 3 for the tyre 4, Fig. 1. The discs are attached to a hub 6 of the wheel by bolts 7 which, when tightened, force the discs together to give rigidity to the wheel. For use as a spare wheel, holes are provided near the periphery for taking bolts 10 which hold the discs temporarily together. These bolts are removed when the wheel has been secured bv the bolts 7 to the hub. In a modification the hub is placed inside the circumferential member of the brake drum and the discs are secured to the brake drum only.
