Abstract

141,676. Trepier, P. A. April 12, 1919, [Convention date]. Disk wheels; double and multiple wheels arranged side by side.-Wheels of the type comprising a single sheet-metal disk 1, are detachably secured to the periphery of a disk 2 of smaller diameter permanently carried by the hub, one of the disks being conical, and both disks bearing on the hub at separate points. The disk 2 is formed with a flange 5 at the periphery, and permanently carries the attaching bolts 6 and strengthening-plates 10. The disk 1 is seated on the hub 3 against a shoulder 9. and has bolt holes strengthened by washers 7, which enter recesses in the edge of the flange 5. The invention is applied to a double wheel, as shown in Fig. 3. The detachable disks 1, 1<1> are similar and placed back to back, being secured to and supported by the disk 2 by the same set of bolts 6. Circumferential corrugations 11 are provided in the disks to stiffen them. In a modification. the disk 2 is extended to form the brake drum.
