Abstract

244,342. Budd Wheel Co., (Assignees of Nelson, E. A.). April 2, 1925, [Convention date]. Disc wheels; double and multiple wheels arranged side by side.-A pneumatic and a solid tvre mounted on the same wheel are disposed so that thev share in common the normal load, substantially in equal proportions. In the construction described, the tyres are carried upon detachable discs 20, 21 both of which are secured to the hub flange 19 by bolts 22 and nuts 23, 24 as shown. The inner disc 20 carries the solid tyre and provides a housing for the brake-drum 34 which is attached, with the interposition of the driving gear 36, to the edge of the hub flange.
