Abstract

137,634. Goodyear, E. F. Feb. 10, 1919. Addition to 129,061. Disk wheels comprise two disks a which are formed with radial flutings increasing in depth towards the outer periphery and adjoining the flange b along a continuous undulating juncture, as described in the parent Specification, the arrangement having the characteristic that the ridges of the corrugations on the adjacent sides of the disks are at rightangles to the axis of the wheel. The disks may be spaced, or they may contact along the ridges of the corrugations. A driving-member f may be used in conjunction with the wheel as described in Specification 135,660, and the wheel may be secured to a hub flange by bolts passing through the disks at points when the ridges are in contact; or the attachment to the hub may be as described in Specification 129,062. The periphery of the wheel may be formed by a ring c supported by the flanges b and forming a. seating for tyre-carrying rims e, the parts being connected in any desired manner, as by welding; or the flanges b may be adapted to carry a standard rim directly.
