Spokes, securing and adjusting. - Straight parallelsided spokes 2 riveted &c. to a channel or angle-section rim are secured between a fixed hub flange 6 and a detachable flange or flange segments 8. Figs. 1 and 3, by bolts 11 arranged between the spokes. The hub flanges are formed with radial grooves 16 to receive the spokes, and there may be shaped, as shown in Fig. 11, to prevent radial movement of the spokes. Fig. 7 shows a modification having two sets of dished spokes riveted to the flanges of a channel rim and clamped between the fixed hub flanges 6, 6<*> and detachable members 8<*>, 8<**>. In further modifications, the rim is formed by a flat metal hoop with an angle ring, or a pair, secured to its inner periphery; in all cases, the flange or flanges of the rim are directed radially inwards. The hub bolts may be formed integral with the fixed or detachable flanges.
