Tyre attachments to rims. -The separate wooden rim is formed with recessed portions to accommodate the beaded edges of the tyre cover, which are held in place by flanges on disks which also connect the rim and hub. The flanges may be formed on separate rings bolted to the disks, which may be dished to fit the inner edges of the rim and the outer edges of the hub. The bolts may be formed to permit removal of one disk for replacement or repair of the tyre without disturbing the other disk. The cover f is retained in grooves in the shaped wooden rim b by flanges e, e<1> on disks c, c<1>, which also connect the rim b and the hub a. The disks c, c<1 >may be dished as shown, to fit the inner edges of the rim and the outer edges of the hub, and the dishing may be formed so as to leave undished portions forming spokes. Sheet-metal covers for the dished parts may be provided to exclude dirt. The flanges e, e' may be formed on separate rings formed in segments and bolted to the rim. The retaining- bolts d, d<1> may be formed on separate rings formed in segments and bolted to the rim. The retaining-bolts d, d<1> may be formed with enlarged portions d<2> on separate nuts in addition to the nuts d<3>, so that the disk c may be removed for replacement or repair of the tyre without disturbing the disk c<1>. Cushion or solid tyres may be secured similarly to the wheel rim.
