Abstract

Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and helical and volute springs. - A wheel having radial telescopic spring spokes and circumferential helical driving-springs is fitted with dust-excluding devices. In the form shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 3, the dust-shields secured to the hub consist of a dished plate 24 at one side and a plate 26 at the other side, stamped so as to form in combination collars 29 extending beyond the junction of the telescoping members 5, 6. The circumferential helical springs 19 secured to the rim and to the ends of radial arms 16 on the hub are enclosed by telescopic casings 31, 32. In the form shown in Fig. 4, a disk 36, having a conical flange 37 secured to a faced part 39, Fig. 2, of the rim, has its inner periphery guided between two flanges 41 on the hub.
