Abstract

232,040. Haslam, W., and Damschke, W. A. April 23, 1924. Disc wheels.-A vehicle wheel comprises a dished disc 2 bolted to the hub and formed with a tyre-retaining bead 11. The inner side of a detachable tyreseating arm 16, beaded at its outer edge, fits an annular groove 19 in the outer face of the disc 2. Bolts 13, passing through lugs 21 on the rim 16, connect the two rim parts. In the modification shown in Fig. 8, the groove 19 is formed by off-setting the marginal portion 26 of the disc. the unbeaded edge of the rim 16 fitting on the shoulder 28 thereby formed. To insert the valve stem, a transverse slot may be formed in the rim part 16, the slot being normally closed by a. detachable cover-plate.
