[Classes 144 (i) and 144 (ii)] A wheel comprises a central disc or spider supporting a channel-section element, one wall of which forms an attachment element for a tyrecarrying rim, the other wall forming a brake-drum element. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the channel-ring 20 riveted to the spoke-ends 17 has its inner flange 24 forming the web of the brake-drum 23, the outer flange 24 forming the attachment-flange for the rim 13 which is carried by a stamping 18 secured by bolts 26. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, the outer flange 48 of the channel-ring 40 extends to the rim 13a which is fitted with lugs 51 clamped between the flange 48 and a bolted-on flange 52. The inner flange 41 of the ring 40 is formed integral with the drum 43. Fig. 7 shows a further modification in which the channel member is constituted by a ring 65 formed with a brakedrum element 60, and the rim-carrying member 61 which is detachably secured by the bolts 70, the ring 65 being permanently secured to the wheel-centre. In this modification, the spokes 15b are shouldered to seat the interfitting flanged edges of the parts 61, 65. Outer covering-discs 34, Fig. 2, 55, Fig. 5, 76, Fig. 7, are formed with beaded edges to engage spring fingers projecting from the wheel.
