Abstract

472,076. Conveyers. VICARS, Ltd., T. & T., and NAYLOR, J. F. June 19, 1936, No. 17037. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group V] Conveying - apparatus for biscuits and other relatively flat articles comprises upper and lower conveyers clisplaceable in opposite directions and reciprocating fripping means on the upper conveyer for transferring periodically flat articles from it into groups on the lower conveyer. An upper belt conveyer 10 is passed around a fripping knife 11 and rollers 12, 13, of which the roller 12 is fixed relatively to a lever 19, and the roller 13 is fixed relatively to the frame of a lower tray conveyer 27. The lever 19 is pivoted at 20 on the frame of the machine, and is connected by a link 18 to a connecting rod 17 which is pivoted to a block 16. Adjustably mounted within the block 16 are blocks 15 on which the knife 11 is supported.. A pin 22 mounted at one end of a link 23 reciprocated by cam mechanism 24, 25 is secured at various positions in a slot 21 in the lever 19 in order to vary the throw of the latter. In a modification, the articles are transferred by the fripping mechanism to an intermediate band conveyer and pass from it to the tray conveyer. Specification 469,873 is referred to.
