Abstract

718,679. Sheet-delivery apparatus. REINERT, A. E. Nov. 18, 1952 [Nov. 20, 1951], No. 29052/52. Class 100 (1). [Also in Group VIII] A wringing, scudding, or other pressure roller machine for use in the manufacture of leather is provided with a belt conveyer 8 to convey the hides &c. 1 away from the pressure rollers 4, 5 and to invert them prior to stacking. As shown, pieces of leather 1 are fed over a table 3 between the rollers 4, 5, which are covered by felt sleeves 7, 6, respectively, and are deposited on one or several endless bands 8 which invert them as they are tipped off the end of the bands. The inverted hides 1 fall on to a stack on a trolley 12. The inclination of the conveyer can be adjusted, since the guide rolls 9, 10 of the conveyer are connected by arms 11 pivoted about the axis of the rolls 9 and these arms are adjustably supported by two brackets 15, 16 which have a pin-and-hole connection. The machine is of known type, the upper roller 4 being carried in spring-loaded pivoted arms, and the lower roller 5 being movable vertically to a limited extent by means of a treadle-operated clutch. A safety-guard 2 is mounted on the entry side of the rollers 4, 5.
