Abstract

468,513. Vehicle - window regulators. SLEIGH, H. L., CHESTON, A. S., STUART, G. M., and McELROY, M., [Representatives of STUART, F. J.] Jan. 16, 1936, No. 1382. [Class 20 (iii)] The hand-actuated mechanism 18 of a regulator for the upper vertically slidable panel of a half-drop vehicle window is mounted on or below the bottom rail 15 of the window. The panel 2 is guided by H-section sash stiles and ribs 12 screwed to the frame, Fig. 6, and is operated by screws 26 pinned to brackets 28, at the top of the stiles, and nuts 25 secured in tubes 24, which are rotated by worm gear 23 and the hand-actuated cross-shaft 20. The nuts are situated in housings between the edge of the fixed panel and the frame 9, which housings retain the fixed panels in place. The shaft 20 and winding mechanism are removably mounted as a unit, on an anglemember 29 below the waist rail or in a housing at one side of and integral with the bottom channel of the fixed panel.
