Abstract
396,211. Window fastenings and holders. JONES & FOSTER, Ltd. and JONES, R. H., 39, Bloomsbury Street, Birmingham. June 27, 1932, No. 18035. [Class 44.] A vertically-sliding window is held closed or partly open by a spring-pressed sliding bolt e co-operating with recesses in the window frame and operated by a finger-piece p keyed to a spindle k which has a pin and helical groove connection with a fixed bracket b. A fixed abutment above the finger-piece is gripped together with the latter when moving the window. The spindle k may be connected to the bolt e by a rod or wire l and may be grooved to co-operate with a pin on the bracket b. In an alternative form, the finger-piece is connected to the bolt and carries a pin which co-operates with a groove on a spindle part secured to the bracket. Bolts e may be arranged at both edges of the window.
