Abstract

439,425. Fastenings. KELLY, P. A., 34, Wale Street, Cape Town, South Africa. June 5,1934, No. 16717. [Class 44] A casement-window fastening comprises a spring-pressed bolt 14 which is held in the retracted position by a vertically sliding rod 9 actuated by a handle 3. The bolt 14 is withdrawn by hand, a screw 20 being provided for the purpose. A nut is screwed down upon the bolt cover to act as an additional means of holding the bolt in the retracted position. A spring pressed bolt 21 is also held in the retracted position by the rod 9. In a modification the bolt 14 is T-shaped and the additional means of holding the bolt comprises a nut with projections which in one position can pass into the narrow end of a casing slot but not when in a position at right angle thereto.
