Abstract

839,328. Sliding bolt fastenings. KELSALL, A. F. Oct. 10, 1957 [Sept. 27, 1956], No. 29484/56. Class 44 A fastening comprises a fastening bolt 7 and a hand operated spindle 6 having a cam 9 thereon for actuating the bolt by axial movement of the spindle, the bolt being pressed by a spring 8 towards the spindle and the cam being adapted to project and hold the bolt projected, the cam being moved when the spindle is moved axially to allow the bolt to be spring retracted. The spindle is provided with knobs 5, 5a at its end by which it can be moved axially, the knob 5a being secured to the spindle against axial movement but so that it is free to rotate. The knob 5 is fixed to the spindle by a screw 11 and the head of the screw engages a slot 12 in in a hollow sleeve 2 of a rose plate so that when the knob is rotated the spindle cannot be moved axially by the knob 5a which is the outside knob.
