Abstract

922,303. Latches. ALFRED IMHOF Ltd. Dec. 6, 1961, No. 43765/61. Class 44. A rotary latch comprises a spindle 1 extending through a closure panel P, a knob 3 fixed to one end of the spindle, a latch member 4 secured to the other end and a coil spring 8 which is mounted in torsion to bias the latch into an operative position, while its compression characteristics bias the latch towards the panel P. The spring is assembled by inserting leg 9 into an aperture 10 in the knob 3 and leg 11 through an aperture 12 in the panel P. The latch member is provided with a nose portion 16 which catches upon the latch plate L of the frame F. The latch member 4, which may be made of nylon, is provided with stops which engage the extension 21 of the spring to prevent complete rotation of the knob 3.
