Class 44 In door furniture of the kind comprising the combination of a rose part 7 adapted to be secured to a door 9 by screws and a knob part 3 mounted for angular movement on the rose part and adapted for engagement with a square or other non- circular spindle 6 of a door fastening the 'knob part has in its face adjacent the rose part a recess in which is accommodated a coiled torsion spring 13 acting between the knob part and the rose part to urge the knob part towards a position in which it covers the screws, one of the parts carrying a projection 11 which engages an arcuate slot or recess 10 in the other part to limit relative angular movement between the two parts. As shown, the projection 11 is carried by an insert 4 received within a recess in the knob part 3 and this insert has a boss 5 which receives the spindle 6. Around the boss 5 is arranged the spring 13 the ends of which are received respectively in the insert 4 and the rose part 7, the spring serving to return the knob part to its initial position after it has been moved. The knob part 3 is secured to the rose part 7 by a circlip 12 which engages a circumferential recess in the boss 5. Recesses 14 are provided in the knob part which are brought into register with the screws when the knob or handle part is moved angularly to one limit position. The projection 11 can be carried by the rose part and the slot or recess is then in the knob part.
