Class 44 In a magnetic door closing device in which one of the elements, the magnet or its armature, is mounted in an opening by a resilient rod, the rod is 'secured to the inner face of the element by retaining means fixed to this face and positioned substantially at its centre. As shown, a magnet 1 is embedded in a support 2 of plastic material provided with fixing holes 3 and co-operates with an armature 4 mounted in an opening 5 in a support 6 also of plastic material and provided with fixing holes 11. The armature is supported by a rod 7 which passes through a stud 8 fixed to the armature and which is positioned in a groove 9 on the rear face of the support 6, the ends of the rod being embedded in sockets 10. In use, the supports 2 and 6 may be mounted on the face of a door frame and door respectively, Fig. 4 (not shown), or they may be countersunk into such faces, Fig. 5 (not shown). In a modification, Figs. 6 and 7 not shown), the rod 7 is engaged in a groove on the rear face of the armature and is secured by a strap.
