[Class 44] A sliding - bolt b for doors, windows, or the like, is mounted so that its operative end can be adjusted relative to the support a so that it can be brought into the required position relatively to its socket. A blade spring d engages the ends of a recess in the bolt and rests against the support a. The guides c in which the bolt slides permit it to be tilted, and a screw e in the outer guide c can be adjusted to determine the degree of tilting for the bolt end to engage its socket. The screw e may secure the bolt in its operative or inoperative position by engaging depressions in the bolt the screw may also be used to pull the door or window against its seating when the bolt is operated.
