[Class 6 (i)] The shaft carrying the operating members of reversible ploughs &c. is rotated for reversing purposes by pawls subjected to the action of one or more projections on the internal surface of a rotatable collar or loop pivotally mounted on the shaft, the collar or loop being so arranged that after having rotated the shaft it occupies an unstable position, so that it continues its movement until it has effected substantially a complete revolution and has reached a position in which it is capable of effecting the rotation of the shaft in the opposite direction. The collar or loop 6 is pivoted on projections 4, 5 on the rectangular share-carrying shaft 3 and comprises two straight parts 14, 15 and an arcshaped part 13. Pawls 7, 8 are pivoted on the shaft 3 and a notched projection 9 provided on the loop 6. An operating lever is connected to the loop 6 by a chain 18. When this chain is pulled upwards it rotates the shaft 3 through the engagement of the notched projection 9 with the pawl 8. When the shaft 3 has turned through about half a revolution the pawl 8 falls away from the projection 9, but the loop 6, owing to its weight, continues to rotate until the other pawl 7 engages the notched projection 9 ready to turn the shaft 3 in the opposite direction when the chain is pulled up again.
